When using the WWVB features of the atomic clock, please ensure the correct time zone is selected before initiating the RCC (Radio Controlled Clock) search. Ensure your location can successfully receive the time signal by placing the clock in an open area or near a window with good signal reception. Maintain a distance of at least 3.28 feet from potential sources of interference, such as TVs, computers, microwaves, and radios. Avoid using the clock in closed environments like airports, basements, and factories where reinforced concrete is used in the walls, as these areas may hinder signal reception.

If the RCC time signal is not received successfully and the automatic time setting fails, you can manually cancel the radio reception and set the time manually. Extreme weather conditions, weak signal, or other disturbances in the vicinity may occasionally cause the clock to receive the wrong time signal instructions.

Atomic clocks are incredibly accurate timepieces that automatically synchronize with the time signal transmitted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Fort Collins, Colorado. This WWVB (60kHz) signal is expected to reach a distance of over 2,000 miles from the transmitter, allowing atomic clocks in North America to maintain accuracy within one second when receiving daily updates.
